Most of what fills a suitcase isn't clothing — it's the air trapped between fibres. Sweaters, duvets and pillows are mostly fluff.
The one-way valve lets the pump pull that air out and then locks shut, so a pile of knitwear becomes a firm, flat slab you can stack like a file. Unzip at the other end and everything springs back.
Honest about the limits
Compression depends on fabric — fluffy knits and bedding shrink dramatically, jeans less so. Delicate silks that hate creases should travel on a hanger, not in a vacuum bag.
And these are for clothes and textiles — not for food. That's a different product, and anyone who says otherwise is improvising.

Great for bigger clothes

Is the pump strong enough for big blankets?
Yes — the large bags take duvets and pillows. Big items just take closer to a minute instead of thirty seconds.
Will my clothes come out wrinkled?
Knits, tees and bedding come out fine after a shake. Structured or crease-sensitive pieces (linen blazers, silk) are happier folded flat on top rather than vacuumed.
